Corporate Design and CMS Based Responsive Website
A new image for creative director Andreas Horbelt
In a close partnership with Andreas Horbelt, a prominent Cologne-based Creative Director, we developed a visual language for his business stationary consisting of a letterhead, business cards, greeting cards, stamps and a website. Andreas being a very meticulous and analytic person, the design style had to have purpose and be clear. The logo is a perfect 360° circle made of an unpretentious and simple typeface named Archer. The colour palette consists of a gentle shade of blue, which you find on the greeting card and the backside of the letterhead. To make the stationary fun to use, we designed three Japanese Hanko signature stamps along with a crimson red Shinuku to mark business cards, greeting cards and letters by hand.
The business card acts as a visual translation of a key conceptual task of his work; Analyse complex content until the core elements become obvious. We visualised this facet of his profession as editor notes and scribbles. The responsive website – implemented through a Squarespace CMS - had to be tranquil and informative. Keeping this in mind, we decided to stay away from common website trends such as parallax scrolling and such. This resulted in the page being as clear and quiet as a Swiss mountain lake.
